PROMOTIONS
In the high school program, the number of units completed will determine the pupil’s progress. The following units under the Concentrated Curriculum will be required:
Promotion to Units Required
Grade 10 = 6 units
Grade 11 = 13 units
Grade 12 = 21 units
Graduation = 29 units
PRINCIPAL’S LIST
This list is comprised of students who receive A’s in each subject each six weeks.
HONOR ROLL
The honor roll will be figured based upon GPA averaged as follows:
A Honor Roll – minimum of a 4.0 GPA
B Honor Roll – minimum of a 3.0 GPA
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Membership in the NHS is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a faculty council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Procedures for selection are publicized annually.
VALEDICTORIAN & SALUTATORIAN
The selection of the valedictorian and the salutatorian will be conducted in accordance with Wilson County School’s Policy.
AWARDS
At the end of the year, an awards day is held. At this time, various awards are presented to students who excel in various areas as academics, music, and athletics.
MARSHALS
The recognition of Marshals will be awarded based on the following criteria:
The top 12 juniors with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA at the end of the 1st semester of his/her Junior year will be selected as a Marshall. If there is more than one student with the same GPA at the number 12 position, all students tied for 12th will be included as Marshals.
Marshals will be recognized and have formal duties at Awards Day and Graduation.
To be a marshal, students must not have any discipline referrals.
GRADING SCALE
90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
60-69 = D
Below 60 = F
